SOME MORE OF MY POETRY

HOW DO I LOVE HOCKEY

How do I love hockey? Let me count the ways.

I love hockey to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling sight of it
For the ends of idol Being and ideal Grace.
I love hockey to the level of everyday's
Most exciting need, by thrill and sports-highlight.
I love hockey freely, as men strive for Right;
I love hockey purely, as they turn from football.
I love hockey with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's dreams.
I love hockey with a love I seemed to never lose
With my lost pucks, --- I love hockey with the breath of every stride,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,

I shall but love hockey better before death

"How do I love Hockey? Let me count the ways..." By Jaxon I Ward (1999-PRESENT) inspired By Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)
